Not saying they’re bad cars or anything, but in terms of corporate development cycles, aren’t the Vantage and DB9 considered to be getting “old” now? The Lamborghini Gallardo was in production for 10ish years and people started clamoring that it needed a refresh around the 7-year mark or so, right?
I just find it odd because it’s not really clear what’s next; there’s usually rumours of the next Ferrari or Lamborghini several years in advance. I haven’t heard anything at all, so a lot of people thought “oh good!” when the DB10 was “announced” for SPECTRE, but now it sounds like that isn’t actually going to be a production model?
Then there’s the rumours that the next Rapide will be electric. And didn’t Aston Martin need to request an airbag exemption in the United States or something? Isn’t that usually considered to be a not-so-good sign for a low-production company? (Lotus had to request one just before they “took a year off” from the USA market, no?)
I hope they’re doing OK; I think it’s sort of cool how they’re a mid-point between Ferrari/Lambo/McLaren on one side, and then Bentley/Rolls-Royce on the other in the supercar world.

Thank you for the link!
Not surprised to see that it will have a V8 as an option, I figured it would be inevitable.

All thanks to lovely CAFE. But at least we get a "less expensive" Aston.

Like Motor Trend, get the app and read from there. It doesn’t show reader comments.

part of the tie up with AMG, nice Mercedes V8’s to replace two Ford Duratec V6’s welded together.
